Germany plays Poland in their first match of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. Both teams come in strong, looking to make a statement early in the tournament.
The Women’s Euros kicked off Thursday with plenty of action. Finland beat Iceland 1-0, Norway edged out Switzerland 2-1, Italy won over Belgium 1-0, and Spain crushed Portugal by five goals. Spain’s victory saw big contributions from Esther Gonzalez, Vicky Lopez, Alexia Putellas and Cristina Martin-Prieto.
Friday’s games continue with Denmark vs Sweden at noon, then Germany meets Poland at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Germany is coming off a massive win over Austria, where they scored six goals—all before halftime. Sydney Lohmann found the net right away, joined by Lea Schüller, Selina Cerci, Klara Bühl and Laura Freigang.
Poland’s team has some momentum, too. They beat Ukraine 4-0, with goals from Klaudia Jedlinska, Paulina Tomasiak, Kayla Adamek and Milena Kokosz. Before that, they topped Romania 3-0, helped by a late pair from Tomasiak and a goal from Ewelina Kamczyk.
